I Call Bullshit

The most painful lesson Jon Stewart taught us was that pointing out hypocrisy does nothing but embolden the stupid. The Sisyphean task of combating belief perseverance pushed Mr. Stewart to the point of exhaustion, as it seems a battle with no end.

While hypocrisy is an inescapable part of being human, America has weaponized it. Protests against Drag Queen Story Hour quickly graduated from the absurd to violent and, finally, Domestic Terrorism. To no one’s surprise, this happened in North Carolina.

North Carolina and Texas lead the nation in threats and protests aimed at drag events. Oregon, Ohio, and California are trying their damnedest to catch up.

Idiots always make the most noise; sadly, many have microphones. Elected officials, citing no credible data whatsoever, openly accuse these events as hotbeds of grooming and indoctrination.

Here’s some data from people who do this for a living.

A 288-page report of sexual abuse in the Southern Baptist Church. They are also the subject of an investigation by the Department of Justice.

269 teachers were arrested for sexual crimes against children between January and September 2022.

In excess of 700 credible cases of sexual misconduct by law enforcement personnel between 2006 and 2016, many of which victimized teenage girls.

A short list of sexual crimes perpetrated by sitting politicians from 1776 to 2022.

A series of child pornography charges levied against current, retired, and candidates for political office: Oklahoma, Virginia, District of Columbia, North Dakota, Maine.

The studies conducted on LGBTQ+ sexual offenders are hard to locate. Among the sparse bit of available data, I found that cisgender and transgender individuals sexually offend at a similar rate. This supports my controversial theory that transgender people are, in fact, people.
